Jennifer Current is the founding principal of CURRENT HABITAT.
Jennifer has designed public landscapes and private gardens in Scandinavia, the UK, Europe, Asia, and in her home of Milwaukee. Her work focuses on the human|nature interface in designed space and she blends her knowledge of arts and sciences to create thoughtful and imaginative places that connect people to place. She has held academic appointments at UW Madison, UW Milwaukee, and the Illinois Institute of Technology. Jennifer regularly lectures on garden history and contemporary design theory. In her spare time, she is Vice President of the Maryland Avenue Montessori Fund Board, head of their Garden and Grounds Preservation committee, and a board member of the Friends of Villa Terrace. Jennifer also serves on the City of Milwaukee Board of Zoning Appeals offering insight into how land use policies affect the aesthetics of the public realm. In her other spare time she pots annuals - lots and lots of annuals.
Prior to CURRENT HABITAT, Jennifer worked at Vogt Landschaftsarchitekten (Zürich, Switzerland) and she currently works with Quorum Architects (Milwaukee, WI).
